Episode 9:

Cassidy Freitas on her journey with perfectionism, fertility struggles, and birth trauma

I am so happy to be finally bringing you this deeply treasured chat with my friend Cassidy Freitas. In this conversation, Cassidy tells us about some of her childhood experiences, the pressure she felt to be perfect and the high expectations for herself during pregnancy, birth, and mothering. Cassidy also very vulnerably shares with us the shame she experienced when things didn’t go as planned during her labour and how she managed to overcome this with EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) .

Dr Cassidy Freitas, is a mother of three and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego. She runs a thriving virtual private practice where she helps parents navigate the challenges of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Dr. Freitas is also the host of the critically acclaimed Holding Space podcast where she explores the intersection of wellness and parenting, and shares expert advice and practical strategies for millennial parents.

I know you will love all the gold in this episode.
